but在英語句子中可用作關(guān)系代詞，引導(dǎo)定語從句。但是需要特殊注意的是but雖然形式上是肯定的，意義上卻是否定的，這正是but和其它關(guān)系代詞（who，that，which等）的不同之處。

1.There is no rule in English but has exceptions.英語中沒有無例外的規(guī)則。

2.There is no old habit but may be cured by a strong will-power.通過強(qiáng)大的意志力沒有改變不了的舊習(xí)慣。

3.With the introduction of the electronic computer,there is no complicated problem but can be solved in a few hours.由于引進(jìn)了電子計(jì)算機(jī)，沒有在幾小時(shí)內(nèi)解決不了的復(fù)雜問題。

4.There is no human being but errs.沒有不犯錯誤的人。

5.There is no mother but loves her children.沒有不愛自己孩子的母親。

6.There was no one present but knew the story already.在場的人都知道這個故事。
